Acupuncture is a drug free treatment option that enhances the ability of the body to recover homeostasis, described in Chinese medicine terminology as dynamic balance.
Acupuncturists insert thin needles into points on the body which initiate responses from the Central nervous system .
Modulating effects on pain and metabolism are achieved through acupuncture's ability to increase blood circulation and stimulate the release of neurotransmitters such as endorphins and other natural opioids . Acupuncture has also been found to have positive effects on brain chemistry through the regulation of the hypothalamus and pituitary glands which are responsible for the smooth running of hormonal activity in the body. The combination of all these factors can result in a broad spectrum of effects on various body systems relating to digestive function, temperature control ,breathing hormone release, sexual and cardiac function.
Origins of Acupuncture.
Acupuncture is part of an integrated medical system known as Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM which originated in China.
While TCM was created in the 1950's and is a form of Chinese medicine based in herbal medicine theory and treatment, the origins of original Chinese medicine can be traced back nearly 5000 years. As well as being one of the oldest healthcare systems in the world today, Chinese medicine and Acupuncture have been extensively researched in clinical trials for a number of medical conditions.
. More recently, The Acupuncture Evidence Project (link below) found evidence for the effectiveness of acupuncture for 117 conditions, with stronger evidence for acupuncture effectiveness for some conditions than others. Acupuncture is considered safe in the hands of a well-trained practitioner and has been found to be cost effective for some conditions. The quality and quantity of research into acupunctures effectiveness is increasing.

People may be hesitant to try Acupuncture, however it is generally considered to be a safe and painless way to remedy a broad range of symptoms, improve overall health and address current health issues when performed by a professional practitioner. In Australia, qualified practitioners of Acupuncture are educated in Traditional Chinese Medicine practices as well as Western biomedical sciences which are both drawn upon to provide responsible individualised care.
The benefits of acupuncture can be widespread , with many patients experiencing enhanced relaxation and increased energy. Acupuncture is a drug free treatment option that enhances immune function and thereby the bodys natural ability to heal itself . Acupuncture practice focuses on the underlying causes of illness and its symptoms and has a holistic approach to healthcare by integrating and balancing the mind, body and emotions.

Facial Enhancement and Natural Skincare Therapy
Acupuncture has a long history of use for cosmetic purposes and Chinese medicine theory and practise has taught that internal nourishment and smooth flow of blood and energy in the body will manifest as healthy external radiance.
Cosmetic acupuncture skin needling is a natural , non surgical alternative to current anti-aging procedures such as Botox, chemical peels and dermabrasion.
It can also be used for scarring and to relieve acne, breakouts and other medical skin conditions along with conventional care .It is for those who not only want to maintain beauty, radiance and vitality in the face, but also want to improve their overall health and wellbeing.
This procedure is an extension of traditional acupuncture, incorporating body needling with facial points to enhance collagen production, reinvigorate blood circulation , even out skin tone and tighten the skin, revealing a natural, supple look.
Ruri facial diagnosis and Chinese medicine principles are used to define any health issues present in the body which may be contributing to skin problems. Acupuncture techniques are then applied to rebalance and stimulate the body's energy and benefit the skin. Acupuncture is then followed by facial massage using organic natural oils . Gua Sha, Facial cupping and jade rollers are used to finish the session.

Remedial Myofascial Cupping
Myofascial Cupping is the practice of using reverse pressure through suction to release tension and pain from the body. The purpose of cupping is to restore blood flow and resolve inflammation that can remain in the body after trauma and injury . Cupping relieves pain due to its ability to disperse stagnation of inflammatory agents and de-constrict tissue fibres. Increasing blood flow and oxygen supply to muscle tissue encourages efficient metabolic uptake, causing a release of tightness and thus pain reduction. This is a relaxing and enjoyable technique, which can be applied on most areas of the body. Apart from being used to release muscular tightness, cupping is also able to be used in facial rejuvenation techniques, abdominal/digestive issues, cellulite reduction and scar and stretchmark reduction.

A Hypnotherapist is a trained, objective professional with whom you can build a healing and trusting relationship. They are trained to provide hypnotherapy for many different kinds of issues relating to health including smoking cessation and addictions, weight loss and digestive problems, dealing with phobias and mental blocks, stress and pain.
Hypnotherapy is a process of talking about and working through your current issues and defining what you would like to achieve through hypnotherapy. The Hypnotherapist will help you to address your problems in a positive way by helping you to clarify the issues, explore options, develop strategies and increase self-awareness.
Hypnotherapists guide you into a state of deep relaxation where the brain frequency is open to suggestion . While you are in this peaceful and relaxed state, your therapist introduces the pre discussed goals they become easier to accept and achieve, as there is limited resistance from the conscious mind while in the state of hypnosis.
